About Me

You had a reason for starting your business. Unless you opened an accounting company, that reason probably didn’t include bookkeeping as a main goal. You had dreams, you had hopes. But running a business is hard work. Many of the activities involved in keeping the business solvent and open don’t have much at all to do with what it is you love doing. 

My goal is to help other business owners handle the tedious bookkeeping work so that they can do what they love and make a greater impact on the world around them. You need information to make decisions. You need to know what area of business is most profitable and what areas are costing you more than they should. You need to know if you owe other people money or if they owe you.

My back ground is engineering. I worked in Oil and Gas as an offshore structural engineer for several years. As an engineer, I worked with data – sometimes in the form of raw numbers, sometimes in charts, graphs and tables. I then took that data and turned it into something useful. Having the data is always only part of the equation (pun intended). Knowing what to do with the data is the other part. Many people have data, or have access to the data, but oftentimes, they stumble when it comes time to actually use the data. After working as an engineer for a while, I became a high school math teacher, teaching, among other things, financial literacy and how to use Excel to track budgets, payments and expenses. Math, in one form or another, has been the focus of my entire career. I enjoy the tedious bookkeeping tasks that business owners try to avoid like the plague. I really enjoy taking data and showing people how to use it and how to look at it so that it makes sense for them. If something doesn’t make sense to you, it won’t help you, no matter how useful it could actually be. That applies to your company’s books. If you aren’t getting the data you need in a form that is usable and makes sense, then it’s like you don’t have it at all.

My goal is to help you reach your goals. I like helping business owners streamline their companies. Giving you the information you need to propel your business to greater heights is my passion.
